Specifically on Twitter, the only really useful social media website - in my humble opinion. This site can teach you how to blog successfully since you are limited to 140 characters. What you learn is to compact your posts into short, relevant and bulleted topics.
Blog posts do not have to be long, just pertinent and interesting. The trend these days is to just follow and be followed by anyone and everyone. To what purpose, I ask you? Traffic to your blog? Nope.
The scammers would have you believe that having followers in the tens of thousands is the key to making money on Twitter and they will sell you a kit guaranteed to get you mega-followers.

The trouble with Twitter is that they don't have the time or the energy to combat all the spammers out there. They have to focus on their major enemies, entities that would shut them down or infect their data base. That still leaves a lot of spammers out there selling Twitter "Secrets to Billions of followers!"
Google has the same problem with keyword abusers and will ban anyone who is prone to using keywords in text that says nothing - relevant to nothing. Linking with sites that have no relevancy to your blog's theme will only get you banned from Google. Believe me folks, you do not want that to happen.
Same thing will happen with Twitter - they hate these scammers!
