If You Build It Will They Come?

Just a couple of years ago my wife and I decided to invest in ourselves, rather than buy stock in some company or companies we knew nothing about. Had we stayed that course of investing I can only imagine what our portfolio would look like today! There had to be something we could do to make money besides getting up at 5Am and commuting to a crabby boss, or working for a company with too much politics and not enough business savvy.

But what could we do at home that could generate an income, something that would put us over the top while collecting social security? Our investment plan was to build something we could depend on for income- not to get rich but to supplement our travel funds, pay our bills and help us be able to retire at an age where we could enjoy it. We both had some experience in marketing, writing and a number of computer skills plus a lot of experience, not just from our jobs but things that we were passionate about. The big question was, would our efforts result in hard dollars or fall by the wayside after we lost interest. We had seen the ads, "Make Millions With Blogs" "Secrets to Untold Wealth On The Internet" Having not just fallen off the turnip truck we knew it had to be slightly more complicated than just starting a blog and watching the cash roll in. After all, if you were making millions on the internet would you want to share the "secrets?"

  1. It's great to see that you both made a life decision that sounds much better than the norm. I have always said the same thing, if people make so many millions off of these great "secrets" why would they share them with just about everyone.

  2. The answer of course John, is they wouldn't. And there are no "secrets" to making money on the internet. Just hard work, patience and a lot of research.
